He is an apprenticed electrician and licensed avionics engineer and has completed studies in general management at the Institute of Economics of the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
For 16 years, Kraft worked in technical and customer support roles in the business aviation industry. Working for a market leader in long-range navigation, his main duties were to provide customer service to his customers in Europe, Middle East & Africa and to support all OEMs in his territory. Further, he specialized in avionics system integration between his company’s products and the first glass cockpits in business jets and some airliners.
In 1989, he started as general manager of Jet Aviation Zurich and in 1995 he was appointed vice president & general manager of the company’s new facility in Singapore, where he was instrumental in developing and transforming the new site to a regional market leader in MRO and FBO services. In 2002, Kraft signed up with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, where he served as regional vice president for the Middle East & North Africa and was a three-time winner of the Gulfstream Sales Leader Award. In late 2011, Kraft returned to Jet Aviation Basel again as vice president market development & completion sales. In a difficult environment, he succeeded to secure various Boeing and Airbus narrow- and widebody completion projects for the organization and was instrumental in making the interior completion business for Jet Aviation successful again.
Kraft’s professional experience and his excellent reputation are widely recognized in the industry. He was a board member of the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) since its inauguration and represented both Gulfstream Aerospace & Jet Aviation until 2018.
