About Gama Aviation Plc:
Founded in 1983 by Marwan Khalek and Stephen Wright, the company has operations in 45 bases worldwide operating over 145 aircraft on behalf of its clients. Its services include: aircraft management; charter operations, line and base maintenance; FBO services; engineering design; flight crew and engineering training; and aviation and ground management IT systems. Gama Aviation is a multi-disciplinary, global aviation services company which specialises in providing support for individuals, corporations and government agencies.
Gama Aviation was awarded an UAE Air Operating Certificate in 2010, and was accredited by IS-BAO in 2016, and currently operate a healthy fleet of private and charter-use aircraft based at Sharjah International Airport. Gama Support Services is the exclusive FBO operator at Sharjah International Airport. The new Sharjah FBO was voted the region’s FBO of The Year 2015 at the Middle East Aviation Awards. A new “Category Zero” handling category was recently introduced, and designed to encourage light aircraft users to use Sharjah International Airport by ensuring the appropriate charging mechanism is available. Gama Support Services also holds a UAE Part 145 maintenance approval, providing line maintenance services at Sharjah, with capabilities covering the Bombardier Global Series, Challenger 604/5 and Embraer Legacy 600/650. Extended approvals include EASA, FAA, Isle of Man and the Bermudan/Cayman Islands, with additional BBJ and Kingair maintenance capabilities. A range of aircraft hangar, parking and storage solutions are also available at the Sharjah FBO.
In 2018, Gama Aviation plan to open a new office, hangars, FBO and engineering facilities at Sharjah International Airport.
The project includes 108,000 square feet in new facilities, including two hangars, office space, an FBO terminal complete with a security area and passenger and pilot lounges. It’ll also provide 226,000 square feet of apron and aircraft parking space.
Gama Aviation believes that Sharjah International Airport’s location makes it perfectly situated to capitalise on the ongoing demand for business aviation in the region – especially for those looking to travel to Dubai, given that the airport is situated closest to the city’s downtown business district. Construction will start in 2016.
Gama Aviation participates in MEBAA to help support the Business Aviation community and industry in the Middle East region. We recognize MEBAA as a valued partner who can help promote the value of Business Aviation.
