The first Planning & Operation Committee (POC) was set up by MEBAA in the business aviation sector in the United Arab Emirates.
MEBAA POC is formed to serve as a forum for the MEBAA members to assemble periodically, exchange matters of common business interest, brain storm new ways of improving relevant operations, planning for future, crisis management, extending business aviation to untapped markets, influencing the regulators to bring about policies, and last but not the least to have regular personal communication with and among MEBAA members.
The meet was held on the 10th February 2020, at the Address Marina Dubai. A number of participants, who are key decision makers, attended it, representing major private jet operators, manufacturers, FBOs, MROs and related fields. Prominant among them being Airbus Corporate Jets, Boeing Business Jets, Arabwings, Bombardier Business Aircraft, Collins Aerospace, ExecuJet Middle East, Falcon Aviation Services, Gama Aviation Middle East, Gate Gourmets Catering Arabia, Honeywell Aerospace, Jet Support Services Inc., Jet Aviation Management, Jeppensen, JETEX Flight Support, Lufthansa Tehhnik AG, Royal Jet, Tarsus F&E ME and UAS International Trip Support. At appropriate stages, representative from the GCAA would be invited to take part in future meets.
At this POC meet, it was unanimously agreed to form six committees, namely Aircraft Operation Certificate (AOC) committee, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) committee, Fixed Based Operators (FBO) committee, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) committee, Services committee and MEBAA Show Advisory Board committee. Each member company related to specific functions will nominate a representative to participate in the appropriate committee.
Ali Alnaqbi, the Founding & Executive Chairman, MEBAA, informed that similar POC would be replicated in other countries of the MENA region in due course.
