During the Dubai Airshow 2019, MEBAA hosted workshop on IS-BAH (International Standards for Business Aircraft Handling) between 18th and 21st Nov 2019 at the Dubai Airshow site. The IS-BAH is a set of global industry best practices for business aviation ground handling service providers (GHSPs). This workshop provides attendees with a deeper understanding of the IS-BAH™ and safety management systems (SMS). This was the first time that the workshop was held at the Show site and the response was very encouraging. This was attended by 15 people from aviation companies. The first 2 days saw the IS-BAH Fundamentals Overview and the last 2 days was dedicated for Auditing Overview. Mr. Terry Yeomans, the Programme Director for the IS-BAH, IBAC, was very impressed with the attendance; in his words: “The first-time workshop at the show site during the Dubai Airshow attracted attendees from all over the world like India, Singapore, Beijing, Germany, Switzerland, Angola, Philippines, etc. which shows there is greater interest in the workshops onsite; it proved to be very successful”.
The workshop on IS-BAO (International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations) was arranged by MEBAA at the Address Dubai Marina Hotel, Dubai, between 20th and 21st Nov. This workshop was anchored by the Mr. Stephan, the Programme Director for the IS-BAO, IBAC. This workshop was attended by 9 people from the industry.

IS-BAH & IS-BAO are safety standards set by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) in line with the ICAO, with Safety Management System (SMS) application in business aircrafts handling and operations respectively. The fundamentals workshop provides the attendees with an understanding of the International Standard for business aircrafts handling and operations and how to implement them in their respective companies to increase safety and efficiency in handling and operations. The IS-BAH and IS-BAO auditing workshops provide attendees with an understanding of the International Standard for business aircrafts handling and operations auditing processes, preparing for an audit plan or for external registration assessments. This workshop is suitable for persons seeking accreditation to become IS-BAH/IS-BAO auditors. To receive accreditation of the IS-BA Certification, attendance for the full duration of the course is mandatory.
MEBAA will be hosting similar workshops on IS-BAH and IS-BAO during the upcoming MEBAA Show 2020 in December.
